Hip-Hop Dance Basic Intro

Pretty much a lot of us already know what Hip Hop is. It is a variety of forms of music that began in the 1970s in the South Bronx and Harlem by Latino and African-American youth. Usually this music is played at clubs, school, house parties and pretty much anywhere. Then the hip hop dance was born as well. This is a street dance which is performed together with, ofcourse, hip hop music. In this article we will discuss some few basics about how to dance hip hop.

 What’s hip hop dance without hip hop music? If it’s dance, there’s got to have music with it as well. There are a lot of hip hop music you can use as your music, try searching them on Youtube or ask your friends for some. If you want to have a bit of a challenge, then go for a dubstep music. The point here is that you have to feel the music and the beat so that you can get into the groove.

 Next up is wearing the right clothes. It has to comfortable enough and loose enough so that you can move more freely. Practice your dance with it and then for a challenge, go for tighter clothing. As for the shoes, you will need those that don’t grip too hard, something that can let you slip and slide is better.

 Take a breath and just relax. You don’t want to look too stiff when you dance. Once you relax you will be able to move freely however you want. Also you got to have confidence when you dance.

 Start dancing by having your feet and shoulder width apart as you stand. Keep your arms to the side and keep them nice and loose. After that, its time to start moving. Follow the beat and rhythm of the music and incorporate your moves there.
